Got a question from Robert in Hawaii ‘’watching barges each loaded with about 50 metal containers being moved around the islands. People are saying Matson is making money hand over fished or barge in Hawaii. Nice. MATX is a near a three year high. Can you give me a reading on it with earnings due October 31st. This took about 20 days. Is it a good call?
So you want to know if you get a call option. Well devil’s in the details depends on how you work that call option, right? But let’s take a look at it technically here, Robert. So on a daily it looks pretty good. It didn’t look bad. So let’s look at a little bit longer term here weekly. Not bad.
I mean it’s got — it could potentially hit a target of $41.94 in its near future than if we go back to a daily The Daily looks okay. It broke above the cloud here, got above it. Now, it’s having a hard time getting much higher than that, spent some of the time in the cloud. But it’s back above it.
It has broken this most recent resistance area. And you can see this is common theme when they do this stuff. It will breakup through this thing come back, touch it, hits it and then launch off of that. I would say Robert as long as it stays above this $38.31 area right here you’re probably fine for a decent call going into the 31st.
All ships rise and lower with the tide. So in other words if the Nasdaq, S&P, The Dow if they all go south, if they go lower it will pull this thing lower. There’s no way around it so keep your eye on the index futures, Dow, S&P and Nasdaq to make sure that now this thing trades on the NYSE but you still use those three indexes to see if those things start to tank this thing will tank too. There’s no way around that.
The whole ocean sinks. This thing will sink with it. But overall it looks good. I would say if it holds $38.31 you’re probably in good shape. It could potentially get back up that $41.42 area. So that is my thoughts on it.
