Which Gold to Trade

Hubert Senters here. Let’s take a look at Gold. One of the most commonly asked questions I get about gold is should I put it in the Gold mining companies and my first gut reaction is dear, lord don’t do that. Sometimes they can be a better return. But for the most part if you think about it as a business perspective the nice shiny stuff that they try to dig out of the ground is called gold, right. Humans are not that great at finding in our first place and digging it out at a profit so you have labor cost, you have equipment cost and you have fuel costs to dig down the ground and then whatever the price of the spot or the cash value of Gold is. That’s how you get your profit value. So number one I wouldn’t do that and sometimes be okay with like NEM like for Newmont Mining. You can see it looks like it’s in a little bit stronger trend than Gold but it’s priced off the price of Gold so my recommendation would be go. That’s the big gold contract. If this moves up Newmont Mining they’ll move up if this moves down Newmont mining they’ll move down. Same thing if you don’t want trade gold futures you can trade the ETF GLD and it’s going to look identical to gold so that would be my recommendation. Even though sometimes you can get lucky and get the right mining company that’s doing really well for themselves for the most part. If you’re going to trade Gold just trade the actual commodity gold or the ETF GLD. That’s my recommendation. I’m going to be speaking at the Wealth 365 event and it’s going to be taking place.
