How to Trail a Stop on Bonds

Hubert Senters here. Let’s take a look at the bond market. So I’m looking at the USM18 and that is the contract that I’m currently trading as you can see here on the sneak attack trade. If you follow that this morning short in this area around here and you’ve got target one, target two and now target three has been missed. Now, the importance of proper planning will prevent you from this poor performance so as the bond market has been jumping up haven’t been playing the long side much. Just very small. And then jumping on the bandwagon when it rolls back over. So let me show you what that looks like. So this is a shot of the 10-year note. And as you can see it bounced up into past the turning line into the standard line. And it is rolling back over and you can see in this bottom right hand corner chart — let me see if I can shrink this upswing. There you go. So you got a 10-minute sell right there, the 60-minute is still a buy. But it’s going to take a little while for it to break down through that cloud. So I will probably cover this and then re-establish my trade on Sunday evening, so that’s the 10-year. Let me show you the 30-year. This is the 30-year. Also bounced up, didn’t quite get to the standard line but did rollover on a 10-minute and the 60 is gradually working its way into a sell through the cloud and then hopefully below the cloud. Now, when you look at this stuff what I try to do is try to trail my stop not too aggressively but I do want to be out of this trail potentially before the end of the day because I don’t want to hold it over the weekend because you got some volatility that I just don’t want to be exposed to. Now, if I had two points in the trade, I would probably hold it but right now only have about a point on this one lot here, it’s at $143.16. I’m up about $812 here, so I want to bump my stop down here to $143.27, 30 seconds according to my parabolic stop here. What I’m going to do because I am going to go pairing — grab my stop. Got a new little mouse a little thing supersensitive. Not used to it yet. $143 27, so $143 .27, so I am going to go ahead and lock in $468 or worst case scenario. I know I’m pretty much guaranteed to make that must exchanges just go down or unless there’s an error of sometime which it does happen sometimes. But I’m looking to see if it can continue to drop and trail the stop. Not so aggressive where I just choke it out, give it enough room to gyrate, move around and keep on dropping for me. Good luck. Hope it helps. And I’ll see you on the next video. Hubert.
